Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is currently comprised of five members who are responsible for governance of People Care 4 Day Care, Inc. Board members come from widely diverse backgrounds within the community. They bring with them a wealth of varied expertise, giving the Board a broad perspective in providing direction to our organization and overseeing our programs.

Andrew Dósa, Esq. - President

Andrew Dósa is a trial attorney with more than 23 years of experience handling cases involving civil/business litigation, criminal defense, personal injury claims, and estate planning. Mr. Dósa received his law degree from the University of San Francisco and his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Mr. Dósa has also served as Judge Pro Tem in the Alameda County Superior Court, in the Alameda, Oakland, Hayward, and Fremont Judicial Districts. Mr. Dósa co-authored "Estate Planning From God's Perspective," contributed to the technology column of the California Lawyer, and written articles for Crime Justice & America. Mr. Dósa was been an Adjunct Professor at the National Hispanic University and served as an instructor in the paralegal program at California State University East Bay (Hayward).

Mr. Dósa is an active member of First Covenant Church, Oakland, and served that congregation in various offices and ministries. He serves on the Christian Action Commission of the Evangelical Covenant Church of America. He serves or has served on the boards of several nonprofits, including Junior Golf Resources, Inc., Crosstown Community Center, Inc., the C. S. Lewis Society of California, Inc., and People Care 4 Day Care, Inc. Additionally, he works on and has been involved with several political issues, and co-chaired a presidential campaign in Alameda County. He was appointed to and previously served on the Alameda County Advisory Board on Alcohol Problems (and elected by peers to Chair of that Board and subcommittees of the Board).

Janis Moyer - Chief Financial Officer

Raised in the San Joaquin Valley, Janis graduated with a BA in Business and a Honors in English from California State University, Chico. After training at Touche Ross, she became Chief Accountant at Soyster & Orenschall and moved on to become CFO of Tannery West in San Francisco. In 1978, she and her husband opened San Francisco Tom's, a wholesale snack and vending company. When her husband retired from the business in 1994, she became and is presently the CEO of that business. Janis has resided in Alameda, CA since 1972.
Barbara Read, M.Sp.Ed. - Education Director

Barbara grew up a "faculty brat" in New Haven, Connecticut. She received a BA from Radcliffe College (English Lit.) - 1959; a Master's degree in Special Education (focus on learning and perceptually challenged children) - 1976. For ten years she worked at The Foster School in Hamden, CT; taught elementary age children in a variety of subjects and methodologies. Her second professional decade was devoted to counseling and therapy. She trained and worked as a general counselor at Change Agents Counseling Center, Hartford, CT., for several years. She had private practice in San Francisco until she retired. During these years she was married, and with her husband/partner, raised three sons. They now have 5 pre-school aged grandchildren.
Yolanda Schamoni - Resources Manager

Yolanda was born and raised in San Diego. She came to Alameda in 1978 and graduated from Encinal High School on a work-study program. She is a licensed cosmotologist and owner of the "Shear Delight Beauty Shop" in Alameda. She is the mother of two children, Moenika and Antonio.
Ralph Zig Tyko - Executive Director & Founder

Born and raised in New York City, Tyko came to California in 1966 as a GI stationed at Travis AFB. After his discharge in 1969, he stayed in northern California. He owned an insurance agency, performed, wrote, and produced comedy, was the West Coast represenative for Topps Baseball covering the California League and the Northwest League, was house dad to his son, Phillip, and worked as a corporate fund raiser.
